About us

Hi!

I'm Jason Berger, the founder and owner/operator of San Diego Liquidation Auctions. That over there is my family and I enjoying a paddle in Mission Bay. The newest addition to our family was born in September of 2023 and isn't even in the picture! Anyway, enough about me, more about San Diego Liquidation Auctions.

I launched SDLA in June of 2023 after seeing the prices of literally everything continue to rise with no end in site. Surely there had to be a way for us regular people to afford the things we want and need. As an experienced reseller of smaller-scale items on sites like craigslist and eBay, I have attended many auctions to find items I would then resell, and something always stuck out to me - there was SO much room for improvement in pretty much every area. I figured if no one else was gonna try to make it better, I would.

My goals:

  • Make as much merchandise as I can significantly more affordable to all of San Diego.
  • Provide the best customer service and smoothest purchase price - create an experience that is heads and shoulders above other auctions I have personally attended.
  • Prevent overstock and returned merchandise from going to the landfill and create more sustainability in what is typically a very wasteful industry.
  • Give back to my community. I currently donate a portion of all of SDLA's proceeds to the San Diego Food Bank.
  • Keep Money in San Diego. When someone buys something at a big box corporate store that money goes to their corporate offices before pennies get redistributed to their employees. When you buy something from San Diego Liquidation Auctions, most of the money stays right here and gets reinvested in the community.
  • Create Jobs. What better way to keep money in San Diego than employing my fellow San Diegans? Supporting San Diego Liquidation Auctions allows me to continue to hire local.
